My conception house runneth over.

It appears that the fertility Gawds have blessed MenoLand once again. First, the Java finches laid 6 eggs and now there appears to be eggs on the bottom of the fish tank?? Little white, round thingys, about 60+ are plopped on the bottom of the fish tank??

Hubby thought that fish have live births?

I have 2 tetras, 3 platys, 1 something or other and 2 parrot fish.

What the 'eff is that at the bottom of my tank?

In other news, this week is not dragging as much as last week but it is pretty damn close. Hubby comes back to Hotel d'George tomorrow. Yes, he was away last week, came home for 2 days and was gone on Monday.

I am not fussed that he is gone. It is amazing how giftees can alter my perspective on so many things.

Yes, I can be bribed.

Platies are livebearers ie live babies. Neon eggs are scattered but TINY. My guess is the parrot fish, not knowing what your something or other is

  And if you want to keep them, you'll need to get them out and put them in a hatching tank hanging inside the aquarium. Tasty snack for fish.

    Will look around for a hatching tank. Never heard of it until a few months ago.

  The something or other fish is the only one of its kind so I don't think that fish laid the eggs. The parrot fish are so big and the eggs are so tiny. Dunno what is going on in that tank.

    I'm starting to reckon it is the tetras. Like jackfrost said, parrot fish release into the water (I looked all this up, it's been bothering me!) You might have trouble getting the eggs into the breeding tank at this stage but keep a close eye on them - newly hatched fish are even more of a tasty snack than eggs. You'll need to get scooping with a jug!

Parrotfish are pelagic spawners; that is, they release many tiny buoyant eggs into the water which become part of the plankton. The eggs float freely, settling into the substrate until hatching.

My goldfish had babies five years ago....I still have most of them. I thought they were mosquito's in my pond until I looked closer and noticed the mosquitos had fins.
