Meno's army

For the past 4 weeks, I have been cooking and freezing meals for hubby to heat up and scarf whilst I am off trotting around.

Yesterday, I had a peek in the deep freezer and in the freezers in the fridge downstairs and upstairs (yes we have two, whoop-de-doo; oh, looky there, it rhymes :>> ).

I have cooked enough food to feed a small army for a month.

Can you ever have too much?

It would appear so.

Today is NOT a Bank Holiday here in MenoLand but we do have one coming up two weeks today called Victoria Day or something, It is to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday if memory serves me correct (and you know how THAT goes)

Why are you holding on to Q. Victoria's birthday!? Here, where she sat in her widows weeds for so long, where she enjoyed a few years with John Brown her 'faithful Ghillie' (expurgated from private records by her daughter P. Beatrice - just one more Victorian anal retentive behaviour). The majority of us may recollect a bit of our history, but we do not remember her birthday, let alone remember the actual day it was on. To my certain knowledge, we only celebrate the living monarch's birthdays (note plural).

I know the year of her death but again, not the date. Knowing the year probably either denotes the education generation I am from, or that I just happen to have remembered a useless fact, or both.

I only have one fridge, but three freezers. We have the big freezer for our everyday foods, a small under counter one for Laura's GF foods and a small chest freezer for things like bread and ice lollies, coz they don't get used / accessed every day.
