Went to a barby yesterday. One of hubby's mates who retired and they were asking us questions about moving to Calgary. And I have been thinking that how wonderful it would be for me to have a career as opposed to a job.
Working in the public sector does have its benefits but the climb up the public sector ladder is a frightful one for many reasons and damn near impossible unless you can perfect the art of kissing someone's keester which is sooooo not me.
And it seems to me that hard work is NOT rewarded in a bizarre way and in fact, is discouraged for all you do is make those that aren't doing their jobs stand out like a sore thumb.
Ooooo, we can't have that now can we?
The timing is perfecto as the kids are grown up and outta the Meno nest. Hubby will be immersed in his new gig and I have no one to answer to 'cept the Trio and who said that you couldn't work at home after the normal work day is done?
The endless possibilities that I can see before me is incredibly exciting.
YAY!!!!
This is what I do know...I will not be a front-line worker...I prefer to work in the private sector where hard work is recognized and rewarded..I do want to climb the corporate ladder as I am competitive and desirous of career...I want to be excited to do and go to work every day...
Yes, I am aware that every job has its' downfalls but I prefer to see this moment as an opportunity to move outside my comfort zone and explore a bit of the employment world.
Hugs and kisses
